Marine: tests réussis de chasseurs russes destinés à l'Inde

18:52 | 29/ 09/ 2009 - MOSCOU, 29 septembre - RIA Novosti. La société russe RSK MiG a procédé à des essais en vol de chasseurs embarqués MiG29K et MiG-29KUB produits en série pour les forces navales indiennes, a annoncé mardi le service de presse de la société.

"Les 28 et 29 septembre 2009, des avions MiG-29K et MiG-29KUB ont effectué plusieurs décollages et atterrissages sur le pont du croiseur lourd porte-aéronefs Admiral Kouznetsov qui se trouvait dans la mer de Barents (...) Les représentants du client ont suivi les tests", lit-on dans le communiqué du constructeur aéronautique russe.

Les quatre premiers MiG-29K conçus pour le porte-avions indien Vikramaditya, en cours de modernisation en Russie, seront livrés en octobre prochain, a confié à RIA Novosti une source au sein du ministère indien de la Défense.

La Marine indienne a commandé à la Russie 16 chasseurs embarqués, dont 12 avions monoplaces et quatre biplaces.

Boeing Submits Proposals to India for Attack and Heavy-Lift Helicopters

12:31 GMT, October 23, 2009 ST. LOUIS | The Boeing Company [NYSE: BA] submitted two proposals to the Indian Air Force this week, offering the AH-64D Apache and the CH-47F Chinook for India's attack and heavy-lift helicopter competitions.

"Boeing believes the Apache and Chinook helicopters are the most capable and cost-effective rotorcraft to meet India's defense and transport requirements," said Vivek Lall, vice president and India country head for Boeing Integrated Defense Systems. "The Apache will be a capable and lethal defender of India's troops and assets, while the Chinook will answer many of the country's military and humanitarian needs."

India is seeking 22 attack helicopters and 15 transport helicopters and has not set a date to announce the winning proposals.

The combat-proven AH-64D Apache Longbow is the newest version of the Apache and a candidate to fulfill the attack helicopter and reconnaissance requirements of numerous armed forces worldwide.

The CH-47 Chinook helicopter is the world's standard for providing heavy-lift and high-altitude transportation for a multitude of missions, with a proven track record of military, humanitarian, disaster-relief, search-and-rescue and firefighting missions on six continents in all climates and conditions.

If selected, Boeing will build the Apache helicopters at its rotorcraft facility in Mesa, Ariz., and the Chinook helicopters at its rotorcraft center in Ridley Park, Pa. Suggested production rates and delivery schedules have not been announced.

Le pilote qui effectuait un vol d'entraînement s'est éjecté et n'a pas souffert. L'appareil est tombé à 16 kilomètres de l'aéroport de Hashimara (Inde). La chute de l'avion n'a pas provoqué de destructions au sol ni fait de victimes, stipule un communiqué.

C'est le deuxième crash d'un MiG depuis les six derniers mois en Inde, le premier datant de mai dans l'ouest du pays.

L'Inde prépare une vaste modernisation des chasseurs Su-30MKI équipant ses forces aériennes.

L'avion dont les livraisons ont commencé aux termes d'un contrat datant de 1996 "sera bientôt soumis à une modernisation, et la Russie a proposé de le rééquiper (...) en faisant appel aux technologies de pointe", lit-on dans le communiqué diffusé par le ministère indien.

La construction sous licence de Su-30MKI est réalisée par Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). A terme, le nombre de Su-30MKI sera porté à 230 unités. New Delhi envisage en outre d'acquérir à titre supplémentaire 50 appareils de ce type.

Parallèlement, les deux pays développent leur missile de croisière Brahmos en vue d'en équiper les Su-30. L'entreprise conjointe qui construit l'engin a déjà achevé la création de la version aérienne du missile.

D'autre part, le Groupe aéronautique unifié russe OAK est en train de moderniser 63 MiG-29 de l'armée de l'air indienne, opération qui sera achevée en 2013. Les appareils reçoivent de nouveaux radars de bord Zhuk ME, les postes de pilotage et autres ensembles sont également changés.

"I must compliment the president," Sharma told DNA from Delhi. "Despite being 75 years old, she has shown the courage to fly in such planes." DNA had reported on Friday (Air force looks for G-suits as Prez gets ready to fly Su-30) that the Indian Air Force was preparing to take Patil on a sortie on the Sukhoi 30MKI from Lohegaon air base at Pune later this month.

Sharma, a defence correspondent and daughter of a retired naval officer, had made her sorties in the F-16 and MiG-35 combat aircraft during the Aero India show in February at Yelahanka, Bangalore.

InAugust,she was invited to fly a Su-30MKI at the International Aviation and Space Salon, MAKS 2009, at Zhukhovsky, Moscow. "My Sukhoi sortie was for 21 minutes; the one in the F-16 was for 40 minutes and in MiG-35 was for 42 minutes," Sharma said, calling the experiences "out-of-this-world". "One just cannot explain the experience when the aircraft cuts through clouds at such high speeds," she said.

Of the three, Sharma said she found the Sukhoi the most advanced, huge, and safest, twin-engine heavyweight fighter. "I could see and feel its huge size as the rear seat is elevated and there is ample room in the cockpit," she said. "Without using the head-up display I could easily see the runway in front." Her sortie included manoeuvres like the 360º and side rolls.

Sharma's tip for Patil is to "stay cool, meditate, and do yoga before flying and also have
lots of water."
